About Us

Who are we?

We are Linda and Richard Burt - almost 25 years in the speciality food business and still standing (most of the time)! It was in 1983 that we first took over a little deli in Corbridge and we worked there for 14 years building it up into, though we say it ourselves, something quite special.

After a gap year to recharge the batteries we fetched up in Kingsbridge, South Devon to start Burts Chips. What fun and games we had! Five years later we took the money and ran - but we didn't get far. Churchstow is only a couple of miles from Kingsbridge. After a bit of a holiday and a bit of thinking we found ourselves drawn to Spain as the focus of our new food business.

The Burt family had been selling fish to the Spanish for ages - maybe it was time to return the favour. Our Spanish import business, Little Spain was born.

What do we do?

We now import food from Spain, Italy, France and Greece, representing a growing number of interesting small producers around Europe. More recently we bought GR Fine Foods - Graham Reygate's long established fine food wholesale business. By combining the two, we now offer an interesting mix of speciality food and drink to customers old and new across most of the South West, We are, and intend to remain, a very small operation - more interested in food than business really!
